New Year’s Resolution – Be Grateful!
The New Year is a great time to reflect on the accomplishments of the past year and to plan for the one that has just begun. Looking back on 2017, I am struck with how amazingly the Lord moved! It was a momentous year for Living Word Community Church. In a tremendous group effort, we changed our name, launched a new website and began a Spanish language service in partnership with Grupo Unidad. We hosted a very blessed visit with many of the leaders of The Living Word Fellowship including our beloved and Senior Pastor, Gary Hargrave. Many of the things that occurred this year were tangible, but the work that the Father did in our own hearts in showing His love were without measure.
As we embark upon a new chapter and begin making plans for the future, it is important to remember the words of Paul, “In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thess. 5:14). This year I want to keep these words at the forefront of my mind. I make a personal commitment that no matter the outcome or the circumstances that Living Word Community Church encounters in this coming year, I will give thanks. I pray that as a church family we will all be grateful. This attitude will create an awareness of God’s presence working in our lives. If we know God loves us and His intentions towards us are always good, then I want to begin our new year by being grateful and giving out of all He has given to us. Thank you Lord for 2017, and thank you Lord for all the ways you will work your will in our hearts in 2018. Here’s to a blessed New Year!
